The leatherette has a surprisingly soft feel against the skin, nothing stiff or plastic about it. Wore it for a whole evening and the fit stayed comfortable the entire time.
The handcrafted boning in this basque holds up way better than my old corset did, no poking or bending out of shape after a few wears. The leatherette has a nice subtle sheen in person that photos don't really capture.
Wore this to a gig and the boning actually held its shape all night instead of digging in like my old one. The leatherette wipes clean with a damp cloth, which I didn't expect to need but spilled a drink and it wiped right off.
